He has completed his basic training in general surgery from J.S.S. Medical college, Mysore. He then received further training in surgical oncology under the eminent surgeon in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital for 1 year. He then joined the prestigious Tata Memorial hospital as Gastrointestinal Fellow for 1 year following which he completed his M.Ch. Oncosurgery training from Tata memorial hospital. In his 5 years of training in Tata memorial hospital he acquired vast experience of treating early and advanced cancers.
He has performed various open and laparoscopic surgeries for GI cancers especially stomach and colorectal cancers. He has also performed exentrative surgeries in advanced cancers and sphincter and organ preservation surgery for patients.
