Allogeneic BMT:

Donor and Recipient are two separate individuals and transplant is done using the stem cells of the donor. It may be:
Matched Related, where the donor is a HLA matched relative usually a sibling.
Matched Unrelated, where donor is not a relative of the patient and usually found from one of the various national or international registries.
Partially Matched Related, where donor has some relation from a patient’s family but partially matched (haploidentocal)
The procedure of the Allogeneic BMT requires 25-30 days of admission in the BMT Unit.

Post discharge stay will be 3 months for the follow up. So, You have to reside in hotel nearby the hospital.
You are likely to have experience of ups and downs during your post transplant period. As your immune system is not able to fully protect you after a transplant and it may take months to normally function. You have to always follow the advice of your doctor.
Protect yourself from infection. The best way of reducing infection is to wash your hands whenever you touch any object.
To reduce infection it is important to take a bath daily, use a separate towel, change bed sheets (at least once a week) and change clothes daily.
Keep your mouth clean. Clean your teeth at least twice a day with a soft brush and use alcohol free mouthwash as recommended
Stay in a clean environment. Try to make distance from dust, plants, flowers, and large gatherings.
Be alert for signs of infection and call a doctor if you are infected.
